Tokugawa Ieyasu was the founder of Tokugawa Shogunate that was the last feudal Japanese military government which existed between 1603 and 1867.

Neighborhood Mikoshi in Sanja Festival

On the second day of Sanja festival, around 100 Mikoshi from 44 districts gather at Sensoji temple.
One by one,those Mikoshi are purified by Shinto priests at Asakusa shrine, and carried again to parade through their neighborhood.
